I am undecided. As a woman and proud Canadian citizen, I know that I SHOULD vote. That it is a privilege that many other people, women in particular, in many other parts of the world do not share. But what do you do when none of the parties running for office seem good enough. Is it doing anyone any good to vote for a lesser "evil"? It feels a little frustrating and not very motivating to get out to the poles and do my civic duty! Perhaps with some more research, I will find the right fit.... Let me know if you are passionate about any party and why!
Here is a yummy recipe as requested by my friend, Jen!
I experienced what can only be Heaven on Earth today! My children and I were at the beach at Cadboro Bay today and it was a most spectacular sight! A pristine, calm, blue-sky day. Beautiful white sand & waves gently lapping on the shore. We sat and played in the sand for the longest time. I thought, life doesn't get much better than this: I have 2 gorgeous, healthy, happy children and we have the luxurious gift of being able to play at the beach this September afternoon. Of course the cherry on the top would have been if my husband were there to share it all with us, but alas, he was busy at work.
Back to school shopping. How do you balance your budget and still keep a clean conscience? I have been hearing about the ills of buying goods from China - child slave labour, the sometimes sub-standard/dangerous manufacturing processes, the carbon output of shipping all the items to North America....
